Do believers sometimes suffer from selective amnesia?

The only revelation about the God that the christian serves is found in the Bible. The only way of salvation is found in the Word of God. We can only be saved by the Gospel.

This we know and accept. We do not have trouble believing that. It is when hard times come, or we are in a crisis that the trouble starts. It is then that we sometimes have a lapse of memory. We forget that the Bible is not only about eternal salvation; God is a Rock and a Refuge for every day life. His arm is not too short to help; he sees and hears when his child calls. Why do we differentiate between parts of the Bible? We believe the parts that explain eternal salvation, but easily forget that we can trust God for daily help, and then we become discouraged. Is it because our basic faith in the Bible as the inerrant Word of God has been eroded in these post modern times?

Two weapons that the devil uses to wreak havoc on people’s faith is: the idea of evolution and the destructive comments about the Bible by liberal, unbelieving theologians. The sole purpose of the devil is to destroy the believer’s faith. Then he knows that he can toss the child of God around like a wave of the sea, throwing him hither and thither. The christians’ protection is the shield of faith, with which they can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Evolution is described and demonstrated everywhere as fact, but a little investigation reveals how impossible it is. (We have written a few columns on it and don’t want to repeat our three main scientific reasons in detail. They are: 1) Abiogenesis, namely the impossibility that life could begin spontaneously without a Creator. 2) The information program on the DNA which tells each living organism how to develop, cannot add information without an outside Programmer. 3) Mutations that the evolutionists claim make the small changes that allow ever more complex life forms to come into being, actually lose information - they do not add any; therefore they cause less complex life forms; they actually move in the opposite direction that evolution requires.) Evolution is a creation myth (1) with only one goal: to undermine faith in the Bible. Taking into account the enormous amount of time, money and propaganda that is spent to promote this scientifically impossible evolution conjecture, believers should be encouraged to realize one thing: it is a testimony that the Bible is the truth.

Concerning the liberal theologians, those agents of the enemy, disguised as sheep,: they testify to the Lord Jesus’ words: “Watch out for false preachers and teachers. They want to destroy and kill”. They are easy to recognize (they are known by their fruit) - they have a negative attitude towards the Bible: they point out so-called errors, incorrect writers, historical anachronisms, et cetera. It is unreal that Jesus warned us about them 2000 years ago. They prove, along with the evolutionists, that the contents of the Bible is the truth.

Be encouraged: it is said that Christians need a crutch, since they cannot make it on their own. But the opposite is the truth - Christianity is not for sissies. It is much easier to opt out and swim with the stream, than to believe in the Bible. But God, who is not stingy, is going to reward His children far above what they can think or believe (Ephesians 3:20). A million years from now, you will be so glad that you did not give in to people who wanted to destroy your faith in the Bible.
