Six twenty four hour days?

There is a great controversy about evolution and creation. Most Christians believe that God is the Creator, because the Bible states that God created the heavens and the earth in their vast array in 6 days of 24 hours. But evolution is marketed as science and that confuses Christians. They start wondering if science does not prove that the Bible’s creation account is outdated.
They mix evolutionary dogma with the Bible, and attempt to defend God by saying that ‘day’ in the Genesis account of creation, could be millions of years. This means that the idea of evolution over long ages is accepted. But evolution has never been proven true, scientifically.
If God was not powerful enough to create in six days, why would He have the power to recreate the new heavens and earth, as stated in Revelation 21:1 (“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.”)? Is it going to take Him another few billion years (by evolution) to accomplish that?
God was powerful enough to destroy all living things, except the people and animals in Noah’s ark, in a world wide flood because of sin. Why would He not be able to create in 6 days? He is able to destroy the earth by fire at the end of the ages, and live with His people in new heavens and on a new earth for billions of years (the billions of years come after the end of the present world, not at its beginning). Why would He not be able to create instantaneously?
On God’s agenda there is a Judgement Day. Each person who lived on earth will have to give an account of him/herself, to God, at the end. (“And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. ... The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.” Revelation 20:12). For God to be a righteous Judge (Ps 89:14, “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne”), all people of all times need the same infallible, eternal Word of God. (It works like the law of a country that is the basis for its judicial system) If the Bible is incorrect, there could be no fair judgement. It has to be infallible and inspired.
Therefore the biblical account that God created in six days, means 24 hour days, nothing more and nothing less.
