Can a circle be a square?

Many sincere Christians believe that the meaning of day in Genesis 1 is not a 24 hour day, but long periods of time. Their reasoning is that God created over millions of years. Was God using the method of evolution to create? If so, it is a logical impossibility. The idea of evolution has never been verified. Could He therefore create through evolution? No! He cannot use a process that is impossible. Nature is a finely tuned, balanced, perfect creation. How can God do it over millions of years by an impossible process? The only other reason why He would do it is to create say one plant a day, or week, or month. This is clearly incongruous. To say that God created over long periods of time, is like saying God created a square circle. He cannot do it even if He is God. It is a logical impossibility.
Another reason why we cannot charge God with creation over millions of years if He did it in 6 days is this: did He really cause a worldwide flood, the rescue of the Israelites out of Egypt with miracles, the parting of the Red Sea, the coming of Jesus as a man? Can He really destroy the world by fire (2 Peter 3:10-13), and renew the heavens and the earth? Either He is going to do it by His strong hand, as He did in the past, or He is going to do it over millions of years. Will the saints then also be resurrected over millions of years? No, God is omnipotent, and never lies (Titus 1:2).
He created in six days, and one day we will be with Him, and He will explain it all to us.
People who dispute the Biblical account of creation in 6 literal days of 24 hours, would do well to study carefully the book ‘Shattering the Myths of Darwinism’ by Richard Milton (Park Street Press, 1992) to understand the fallacy of the Geological Column and age determinations. (He is not a Christian, so is not biased).
To understand that the genetic changes in DNA by mutations leading to other species (for example, a land animal becoming a whale over long periods of time) is just impossible, it would be well to read: ‘Not by Chance’ by Dr Lee Spetner (Judaica Press, 1997).
To understand that the fossil record, which should support any possible evolutionary processes, doesn’t, it would be well to read ‘The Fossils, STILL say No’, by Dr Duane Gish (Institute for Creation Research, 1995). It is very thorough in discussing the fossil record.
To understand that the genetic code could not be the product of any evolutionary process, but must come from an outside source (which can be no other than the Lord Jesus Christ - Colossians 1:16), it would be well to read the book ‘In the Beginning was Information’ by Werner Gitt, (CLV/Christliche Literatur-Verbreitung, 1997).
The book by Michael Denton, ‘Evolution, A Theory in Crisis’, Adler and Adler, 1986 is also helpful. (There are many other books which give scientific reasons why the idea of evolution is not true.)
Conclusion: Can God create a square circle? No!
