Which way to go with so many roads?

Have you ever lost your way in a city with the confusing roads and the terrible traffic? Then you understand that it is not easy to find the path that leads to eternal life without a good guide or an up to date road map. The Bible says that Jesus is the Way, but there are so many road signs pointing in other directions, with the promise of eventual heaven. Why do some Christians have trouble believing that the Word of God (which is also Jesus Christ according to Revelation 19:13), the Bible, is the absolute standard of truth, the only way to an eternity with God?

God guarantees only His way. He gave us a guarantee that if we follow the instructions in his Manual, the Bible, and we do not break the terms of the guarantee, we will inherit what He promised. God’s Manual is fairly long and elaborate. It gives detailed instructions and examples on how to use the product, namely what we must do to achieve the results spelled out in the guarantee. All aspects of the product are covered and many examples of how effective it is, are given. How do we know if a firm is reliable, and its guarantee trustworthy? We hear from satisfied customers. It is the same with God; we have a 2000 year record of people who have tried it and have found it wonderful.

It is important that we do not just glance at the guarantee, and accept it will work even if we do not adhere to its conditions. God is like any other manufacturer; there are basic stipulations that must be done to have the right results. One important example is to attend a church. That is necessary, but Jesus told us not only to sit there, but to learn how to apply his principles in real life. We cannot sidle up to Christ at the end, and expect rewards if we did not do what He told us in His Word. In this specific case He told the users not only to read the words, but to apply them in practice: “Not everyone who says to Me ‘Lord, Lord’, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven” (Matthew 7:21).

Usually guarantees have a help line in case of problems. It is the same with God: He gave us the Holy Spirit to be with us 24 hours per day. He is never on holiday and never takes one day or lunch break off. Please contact Him.

One manufacturer does not normally guarantee another manufacturer’s products. Each one backs up his own product. This is why God continually calls on us to trust Him. There is only one true heaven, and He is the Creator of it. He guarantees that we will be there if we follow His instructions. But He is not responsible for any person who buys into a different product and later cries when he/she discovers the product doesn’t deliver.

Lesson: be very wary of other roads, or promising deviations. According to God, they cannot deliver the desired result of a glorious, eternal Kingdom of peace and happiness on the renewed earth.
